Cartwise ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered grocery price comparison service for Switzerland. This policy explains what data we process and why.

• Account data: email address and authentication identifiers needed to sign you in.
• Shopping data: the lists, items, quantities and notes you create in the app.
• Usage data: basic technical logs (timestamps, errors) to keep the Service reliable.

We do not collect payment data and we do not sell your data.

3. How we use your data

• To operate and secure your account.
• To save your shopping lists and remember recently used items.
• To send your shopping items to our AI model for clarification and to find matching products.
• To improve the reliability and quality of the Service.

4. Legal basis

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), with your consent where required, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving Cartwise — in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

5. Sharing & processors

We rely on trusted third-party processors to run Cartwise — for example cloud hosting, database/auth, and AI providers used to clarify your items and select product matches. They process data only on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

7. Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. Contact us through the in-app support channel to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security on user data.

Cartwise uses only the strictly necessary cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to run the application.

Cartwise is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
